Delete it from inside the app
- Open AI Bedtime Stories on your phone or tablet.
- Go to Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm with Delete My Account.
- If you are asked to sign in again, do so. This is a security check that runs after you confirm, so that only you can delete your account.
The deletion happens immediately. It cannot be undone.
If you cannot open the app
Write to info@ivanmorgillo.com from the email address you signed in with, asking to delete your AI Bedtime Stories account. We will confirm once it is done.
What is deleted
Your account and everything in it, immediately:
- Every story you saved, including the child's name and the characters in them.
- Your user record, and the technical records attached to it — how many stories you generated and the counters used to apply your plan's limits.
- Your account itself, including the Google or Apple sign-in linked to it.
What is kept, and for how long
Some records outlive the deletion. The main ones are below, with what each holds and how long it lasts.
- Purchase and subscription records — kept by Apple and Google, and by our billing provider RevenueCat, for as long as tax and accounting law requires (in the UK, six years). We cannot delete these for you: they belong to the store you bought through, and you have to ask that store.
- Crash reports — kept by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days, then deleted automatically.
- Usage statistics — counts of things like "a story was created", together with the age range and gender you chose for the story. Never the child's name, and never the story itself. Kept by Firebase Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted automatically, and not tied to your account once it is gone.
- The details used to write your stories — the child's name, the friend, the age range and the rest of what you chose, together with the story that came back, are held by OpenAI, which writes the stories, for up to 30 days, to check the service is not being misused. They are then deleted automatically. With our current settings they are never used to train AI models. OpenAI clears these on its own schedule and we cannot clear them early.
- Technical logs — our server records an internal account identifier when it checks how many stories you have left. No name, no story. Kept for 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- A record that the account was deleted — just an internal identifier and the date, kept for 90 days and then removed automatically. It is what stops anything still in progress from writing your data back after you have gone.
- A backup copy of the hero details — deleting your account clears the child's name, the friend's name, the gender and the age range from this phone, but your phone's own backup may already hold a copy. See "What stays on your phone" below.
If you want the crash reports or the usage statistics removed sooner, write to the address above and we will do what the provider allows. The purchase records belong to the store you bought through, so that is a request you have to make there. The story details run on OpenAI's schedule, and we cannot clear them early. The technical logs sit in a shared log store we cannot edit one account out of, so they go on their 30-day schedule. The deletion record we keep on purpose for its 90 days: it is what stops anything still in flight from writing your data back. The backup copy of the hero details is held by your phone, not by us, so it is the one thing on this list you can clear yourself — in your phone's backup settings.
What stays on your phone
The hero details you set up — the child's name, the friend's name, the gender and the age range — are saved on the device itself, not on our servers. Deleting your account clears them from this phone. If we cannot clear them, we stop and tell you rather than deleting your account anyway.
One caveat we would rather state than skip: your phone's own backup may already hold a copy of those details, and restoring that backup — onto the same phone or a new one — can bring them back. That backup belongs to Apple or Google, not to us, and you manage it in your phone's settings.
What does stay on the phone is the app's own settings and how you have used it — your language, your bedtime reminders, how far you got through the introduction, and similar. None of that is a child's name, a friend's name, a gender or an age range. Uninstalling the app removes the copy the app is holding, and the same backup caveat applies to it.
